TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Ms. Mahyar is devoted to music education and the transmission of musical heritage to future generations. She has extensive experience teaching both graduate and undergraduate music courses, including Aural Skills I, III, Conducting I, II, III, and Music and Culture. Her teaching roles have spanned prestigious institutions such as Pacific Lutheran University, where she serves as an Instructor of Music, Michigan State University, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she worked as a Teaching Assistant.
In addition to her university teaching, Ms. Mahyar was the Assistant Conductor at the Tchaikovsky Music School of Yerevan, where she nurtured young musicians through both conducting and teaching.

Her dedication to music education is further demonstrated by her numerous collaborations with high school orchestras, festivals, and conferences. She has served as a clinician and adjudicator for several prestigious events, including:

Ms. Mahyar began her teaching career upon receiving her Piano Teaching Certificate from Iran’s Ministry of Culture in Isfahan, Iran. She actively worked as a freelance piano and music theory teacher in Esfahan, Iran, and Yerevan, Armenia. Additionally, she co-directed the “Avaz” Piano and Voice Recital Series in her hometown of Esfahan. Her broad experience and dedication make her a valuable educator and mentor in the field of music.
