TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Ms. Mahyar is devoted to music education and the transmission of musical heritage to future generations. She has extensive experience teaching graduate and undergraduate music courses, including Aural Skills I, III, Conducting I, II, III, and Music and Culture. Currently serving as Assistant Professor at University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), she has served as Music
Instructor at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU), Teaching Assistant at Michigan State University (MSU), and the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) and Assistant Conductor at the Tchaikovsky Music School of Yerevan, Armenia.
Her dedication to music education is demonstrated by her numerous collaborations with high school and youth orchestras, festivals, and conferences. She has served as a clinician and adjudicator for several prestigious events and organizations, including:

Ms. Mahyar began her teaching career upon receiving her Piano Teaching Certificate from Iran’s Ministry of Culture in Isfahan, Iran. She actively worked as a freelance piano and music theory teacher in Esfahan, Iran, and Yerevan, Armenia. Additionally, she co-directed the “Avaz” Piano and Voice Recital Series in her hometown of Esfahan.
